92 Celtics, 86 Knicks

The Knicks are going to lose this series because of stupidity.

Last night the Knicks proclaimed they were wearing all black to their game, because it was going to be a funeral for the Celtics said Kenyon Martin. However, the Knicks were the ones that ended up looking foolish and giving the Celtics extra motivation for this game. The question is, who are the Knicks? What have any of these guys done? The biggest game Carmelo Anthony has played was the National Championship game at Syracuse and as for J.R. Smith his probably was in China during the lock out. The Knicks haven't won a playoff series in 13 years, and hopefully it stays that way.

Kenyon Martin finished with 2 points, 2 rebounds and 5 fouls, and JR Smtih was 3-14.

Jeff Green had an incredible 4th quarter. He had ten of his team high 18 points came in the final 12 minutes. His back-to-back threes inside three minutes were huge to hold off the Knicks. And that old man KG had a game for himself, 16 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. His 20-footer with 48 seconds remaining was the dagger. Paul Pierce didn't have the best shooting night, however, his 10 point 3rd quarter was great. And Jason Terry played phenomenal on defense? and offense with 17 points. But the MVP for the Celtics has to be Brandon Bass, he provided scoring with 17 points, but he played incredible defense on Melo. Melo started off hot by hitting 5-7 but finished the game shooting 3-17.

The biggest and continuous issue is Avery Bradley, as Raymond Felton has killed him all series. You know it's bad when Doc has to bring in Jason Terry as a defensive replacement for him.

And of course another vintage KG interview:

98 Celtics, 93 Pistons

Even though the Celtics blew a 17 point lead, and even the KG situation seems like 09 all over again I need to stop and appreciate Jeff Green for a second. Jeff Green is worth every penny of the contract he got when we signed him to a 4 year, 26 million dollar deal. I guess I'm done questioning Danny Ainge. Jeff Green still may have inconsistencies about him, however, he has become a reliable scorer, defender and most importantly clutch. Jeff has come through in a lot of spots where Paul Pierce's number would be called and has come through and last night was yet another example. With the Celtics doing their best attempt to blow a 17 point lead, Jeff hit a dagger 3 with 45 seconds left to put the game out of reach for the Pistons.

Jeff had 34 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. I trust Green maybe 2nd on the team offensively and probably defensively behind Pierce and KG respectively.

Brandon Bass and Paul Pierce chipped in with 17 points each and Avery Bradley had 11. You know what is a really great topic of discussion? Who will be the more valuable Bradley to a Boston organization, Avery or Jackie? you can never take anything away from Avery's defense, but I am a little wary of his offensive ability. I don't know enough about Jackie yet, but with the hype surrounding him and the small sample we have seen of him up with the Sox, he can be a really good player.

One thing is for sure for the Celtics though, we need a healthy KG and Pierce if we want a shot against the Knicks or Heat.

108 Knicks, 89 Celtics

It's all fun and games until the Knicks don't miss a 3 pointer.

The Knicks knocked in 14 3 points out of 27 and the Celtics just didn't have a response.

The only ones who were worth a damn last night were Paul Pierce and Jeff Green.

Pierce had 24 points and 15 boards and Jeff Green had 27 points. Everyone else was just terrible. Avery Bradley's offense has disappeared, JET is very inconsistent and the same can be said about Jordan Crawford. Well I guess you can say that about the whole Celtics team to be honest, everyone is inconsistent and if this KG injury lingers like it did in 09, they will be fucked.

Celtics Choke Against Miami

In case you missed it, the Celtics choked away a 13 point lead with 8 minutes to play in the 4th quarter. Regardless of how this game turned out, I was going to manipulate the facts in my mind to fit with my crackpot Celtics theory. If they came out and gave a great effort/won I could say that they had flipped the switch to see how they stacked up to the best in the East. If they had KG sit it out and phoned it in the whole game I'd say they were trying to limit his minutes and coasting into the playoffs and hoping to catch Miami by surprise. I don't know if I'm happy that the Celtics came out and put Miami's back against the wall despite missing Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, etc. or disappointed that they fell to pieces down the stretch and couldn't finish the job. The last few minutes were painful to watch and full of lazy defensive errors and bad shots, which let Miami back into the game. On the plus side, Jeff Green had, literally, the best game of his career. His stat line was amazing: 43 points, 40 minutes, 14 for 21 Shooting FGs, 5 for 7 from 3-point land, 10 for 13 on FTs, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 assists. I'm hoping this will be a great win for his confidence and he can be a more consistent producer on the floor.

Crazy NBA Trade Rumors

So the Celtics have been linked to about 1000 trade rumors this weekend and lets sift through all of them even though none of it will happen.

1st. KG for Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan.

I originally said when the Bledsoe deal popped up that the Celtics would need DeAndre Jordan for me to consider this deal. And now that they apparently have, I'm getting cold feet. Jordan is an incredible defensive Center that can definitely be a shot blocking force and super athletic, but he shoots like 45% from the line and a lot of the time has to sit in the 4th quarter. So we would have a budding star in Bledsoe and a C we can't play for 40 minute a game, for a guy who changed the whole culture in Boston. Still not sue I would do it.

2. Dwight Howard for Rajon Rondo.

No Brainer right? Well the only thing about this that makes me hesitant is the Howard circus he brings to everything. Will he stay or will he go? Does he care about winning or does he care about his brand? Rondo currently has one of the best contracts in the game and if we give that up for Howard and he leaves that would be awful. However, if this was real, I couldn't blame Danny in hopes Howard sticks around.

3rd. Bass and Green for Josh Smith.

This is a no brainer as well. I have also heard that Pierce would need to be involved, but I want to stick with the original rumors. I love what Jeff Green has become over the past month and think that he is starting to live up to his contract. I would have no idea why the Hawks would do this, they aren't gaining a ton of talent and certainly not helping their cap situation. But if Danny Ferry wants to, why not walk with it.

So that would leave us with a line up of:

Bledsoe, Bradley, Pierce, Josh Smith, Dwight Howard and Jordan, Terry, Lee off the bench.

I could fuck with that.

But none of this will happen because the NBA and their rumor mill is the most untrustworthy thing ever.

118 Celtics, 113 Nuggets

What an incredible game! It is truly amazing what the Celtics have been able to do without Rondo or Sully. Last night's win was exactly what the Celtics grit and balls team was about last year. Just the grittiest, ballsiest win of the season and ended the Nuggets 9 game win streak.

Everyone was saying that this will be the Celtics first real test, and Paul Pierce, KG, JET and Jeff Green answered that call:

Paul Pierce, there is nothing more you can say about the Truth right now other than he has elevated his game back to superstar status once again. He finished last nights game with 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists, just incredible. He was just incredible, mostly clutch (I will forgive that missed free throw) and just pulling his weight. Pierce knocked a huge 3 down in the second overtime to extend the game. Dude is just clutch as shit.

Kevin Garnett chipped in with 20 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 blocks with the typical KG, "Get that shit outta here nigga!" after the blocks, I wonder if someone gets fired everytime that gets played on the CSN or whether it's just a thing that they are used to at this point. KG went for 46 minutes yet started the 3rd overtime hitting three of his first four shots. He played big in the 3rd overtime after struggling from the field for a lot of the game. Incredible. The your not trading me tour for both of these players is still on.

JET played his best game as a Celtic. In regulation he dropped 21 points on 8 of 19 shooting being the guy we thought he was. However in OT he started off cold, missing seven straight 3′s but then he hit a HUGE 3 with 1:15 left in the 3rd OT. He also had a great defensive stop on Andre Miller too.

Now it's time to shout out Jeff Green who was as clutch as anyone. I still wish he would rebound more, but as long as he stays aggressive offensively and keeps improving on defense we will be alright. He hit a huge jumper in the 4th and an even bigger 3 in the first overtime to tie the game at 99. Jeff finished with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks in 42 big minutes. I like when they play him at the 4 a lot.

The Nuggets are a good team and although it took them 3 OT's to beat them this was the best win of the season.
