Bucs Land Revis

The Jets have finally traded, as he is on his way to Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers gave up their 2013 first-round pick (No. 13 overall) and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2014 that could become a third-round pick. It's essentially a third-round pick, though, because the condition is that Revis remains on the Bucs' roster on the third day of the league year in 2014.

It's a good deal for both teams. The Jets had to get rid of Revis at this point. He was unhappy, and they are in salary cap hell. Plus, they suck and need to completely rebuild. The Bucs get the best corner in the league, and when you're in a division with Brees, Newton, and Ryan you could always use good corners.

Jets 100% Dealing Revis

"The New York Jets are determined to deal star cornerback Darrelle Revis, and the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers are interested in his services, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News (CBS)."

This is odd as there was a report earlier today that said the 49ers interest was .0001 on a scale of 1-10. I guess that really means nothing, and could just be a negotiating too. As I said before, I think it's a good move by the Jets if they can get something good in return and get his money off the books. They are kind of in salary cap hell, and are rebuilding. Revis is a hell of a player, but they aren't anywhere close to being even a contender. Hell, I go as far as to say it would be an absolute shock to me if they made the playoffs next year. If they can get some draft picks for Revis I would move him ASAP.

Jets Still Shopping Revis

"According to Gary Myers of the New York Post, Idzik wasn't just "open" to the possibility of moving Revis -- he actually spent much of the combine "actively" shopping Revis (CBS)."

This has been going back and forth for awhile now. The Jets keeps saying it's not going on, but it certainly seems they are open to the idea. It actually might be a good idea to deal him. The Jets really need some cap space, and even though Revis is by far their best player, they need a complete rebuild. I really don't see how the Jets compete next season, and if that's the case they should look to deal Revis for as many draft picks as they can get.

The Patriots would obviously make a ton of sense, but I don't see the Jets dealing their best player to their rivals. Buccaneers make a lot of sense, and there would probably be a line of those teams that would love to jump into the mix.
