The Chargers are reporting that Danny Woodhead will be headed to San Diego on a 2-year deal. I guess I should have seen this coming with Leon Washington taking over for his kick return duties and Shane Vereen taking more of his touches later in the season, but what a bummer. Woodhead turned into a great story of the 2010 season. Undrafted coming out of Division II Chadron State (For those of you who aren't aware, Division II is below the Division I - FCS (Think Appalachian State, The Ivy League, etc.), which is below Division I - FBS) he was cut by the Jets and finally got his shot with the Patriots and really managed to maximize the opportunity. The fanbase really took well to the scrappy underdog and I'm sad to see him go.
