Connor Bird (Larry Bird's son) got into a fight in his apartment with his girlfriend. Apparently she left, and he threw a cell phone at her. He later called her, and he picked her up to talk things out and brought her to an IU parking lot. Things didn't go well, and she got out of the car, when she did that he tried to run her over twice. The girl escaped and went to the police. There are witnesses to this, so it sounds like Connor Bird is going to be a Jail Bird soon (see what I did there?).
On top of that Connor is in trouble for "battery with injury, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana", so it sounds like this was an awesome night for him. He was also arrested in 2011 for “underage drinking and disorderly conduct.”
Things haven't been too good in the Bird household. Obviously his son is a mess, and Larry has talked to Corrie Bird (who is from his first marriage) in 15 years.
Hopefully Connor takes this shit on the chin and learns from it. He is only 21 years old, and lucky he didn't actually hit her with his car, so he will have a chance at resurrecting his life.
