Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Da'Quan Bowers was arrested after a loaded .40-caliber gun was discovered in his bag at LaGuardia Airport in New York on Monday morning, Meris Campbell, a spokeswoman for the Queens District Attorney's office, confirmed.
Campbell said Bowers will be charged on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon on the second degree — the same charges levied against former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress in 2008. The charges carry a minimum sentence of 3½ years in prison. USAToday
Jesus man, this is why Da'Quan Bowers fell so far int he NFL draft, because he's fucking retarded. I don't get the reason why an NFL player would do this. They know they shouldn't be doing this, they know they are going to get caught, and now he has a Plaxico like trial that is going to come up. I don't really know how Bowers has been doing for the Bucs, but I remember he was supposedly going to go number one then dropped int he draft because of some injury thing. The only reason this is significant because he could potentially go to jail and kill his NFL career.
