Yankees Asking Derrek Lee To Come Out Of Retirement
"The Yankees have asked first baseman Derrek Lee if he would come out of retirement, and join the team as Mark Teixeira's replacement, according to David Waldstein of the New York Times. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has confirmed that the team has reached out to Lee (CBS)."
The Yankees are getting desperate, and it's really only going to get worse. How long can Youk really hold up playing 3rd? What About Jeter?
As of now it is being said that it is very unlikely that Lee comes out of retirement. It is also being reported that the Yankees have reached out to Chipper Jones, but Chipper has said time and again that he is all done and has no interest in playing.
I seriously believe that the Yankees could end up with a very similar to the Red Sox. It's really odd to think that the Orioles, Rays, and Blue Jays could be the top 3 teams in the East, it's like every thing has been flipped.
