What Happens If It Snows During Next Years Super Bowl?

Sports Business Journal is reporting that the NFL actually does have a contingency plan in case a blizzard strikes the area.

“The league is considering various options that include the possibility of delaying the contest several days in the event of a weather emergency on game day,” the SBJ writes. “The league even could decide to play the game on Saturday if faced with an ominous forecast, sources said. “While contingency plans are in place for all events of this magnitude, the New York/New Jersey setting offers new challenges for the NFL. It is not a typical snowstorm that concerns the league but rather a weather crisis like a nor'easter, something that is capable of shutting down the city (CBS).”

This is all just silly. You can't move the day of the Super Bowl, because all the people that fly in and have hotel rooms would get screwed. So that's really not an option. The Super Bowl should never be in the north, and is especially shouldn't be in an outdoor stadium in the North.

This is the NFL's grand show. You get everyone flying from all over into a city. No one wants to come to New York when it's 5 degrees outside, and 3 feet of snow. It's not worth the risk. This whole thing is dumb, and they really should move it. There is no way it will happen, so I hope there is 10 feet of snow and the NFL learns from a terrible mistake.
