Like a Celtics vs Lakers game needed anymore drama there is a bunch of reasons why this game is going to be very emotional. As I said before last night's game, this COULD BE the last time we see Paul Pierce and KG in Celtics uniforms (depending on if you believe certain sports writers). We also have the Lakers playing their first game since Jerry Buss passed away. On top of that the Lakers have their own trade rumors swirling with Dwight Howard possibly on the move. And if for some reason that just wasn't enough for you, the last time these two teams played the Celtics embarrassed them 116-95.
Kobe is going to do what Kobe does. He is going to score, and I think he will have a big night with all this stuff going around him. That's fine, and just something you deal with when you play the Lakers. The Celtics can easily overcome that. The real important part here is whether or not Howard feels like being a beast. If he comes out and plays strong, he can easily impose his will on the Celtics big men. If he goes off, and the Celtics having to play for the 2nd time in 2 night, then the Lakers could beat the Celtics badly.
Yet, I have no faith in Howard. He has shrunk when things matter. Things are going to be crazy there tonight, there is going to be a ton of emotion, KG is going to be spitting venom, and when you put Howard in a situation like that I think he will disappear.
Pierce I am sure would love to bounce back from his terrible night last night, which cost them the game. I think he does, and the Celtics win a close one.
