Kings @ Celtics Preview

This is the 2nd game of the Rondo-less Celtics era. Here is hoping it is like the 1st game when the Celtics were able to beat the Heat. Obviously, this is a much easier game and one they should win with or without Rondo.

Yet, last time these two teams play the Kings actually beat them and it wasn't very close (118-96). The Kings looked young and fast, while the Celtics looked old and slow. One would think without Rondo things could get worse, but I don't expect that tonight.

I think the Celtics are going to lock down their back court with Bradley and Lee. Lee has a whole 2nd chance to this season now that Rondo is gone. He is going to get big minutes, and will have the ball in his hands a lot more. So, I am really interested to watch if he can be the player we thought we were getting to begin the year.

Everyone will have their eyes on Paul Pierce, as most people think he will now be running a lot of the sets on offense. While I don't completely disagree I think you are going to see a lot of guys doing this and not just mainly Paul.

One that scares me tonight is Cousins. He hasn't been playing well (averaging 9.7 points, 4.7 boards and 4.0 turnovers in his last three games), but the Celtics have had trouble with powerful big men in the past.

Still, I think the Celtics come out with the win at home tonight.

Celtics win 96-91
Tommy Award: Lee
Game starts at 7:30pm
