Patriots Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard received his sentence for assaulting a police officer in April of 2012. Dennard and the Patriots caught a nice break here. His crimes had a maximum sentence of 6 years, even a full year out of football might have been enough to permanently derail his career, but instead he'll only be serving 30 days in jail. Furthermore, his sentence will take place next March when it will have the least impact on his ability to participate with team events. It may effect his conditioning, but given how badly this could have gone it's a minor consideration. He'll also be on probation for 24 months and has to put in 100 hours of community service
