49ers Sign Nnamdi Asomugha

"Free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha reached agreement on a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday that could pay him as much as $3 million this year (ESPN)."

Wow, how the mighty have fallen. Asomugha at one point was the 2nd best corner in the NFL, now he is going to play for a deal that has no guaranteed money, and even if he his all his incentives it'll only be for $3 million. I have no idea why the Patriots wouldn't offer this same deal. Maybe he didn't want to play here, but a CB roster of Talib, Asomugha, Dennard, and Arrington sounds pretty awesome to me.

Great signing for the 49ers, with basically no downside. He either preforms, or he gets nothing.
